Predisposition to Pediatric Malignant Diseases

Institut Curie is co-organizing an international Course on Predisposition to Pediatric Malignant Diseases (Nov 22-24 2023, Paris, France).

There are no registrations fees.

Genetic predispositions are increasingly being diagnosed, discussed or suspected to explain childhood cancers. We will consider describing how a predisposition syndrome leads to cancer, how to interpret variants and how to validate their pathological character, both clinically and in research. We will discuss the merits of surveillance programs, and address through case discussions how to approach the complexity of genetic information management at all levels.

Registration deadline: September 29th

Objectives

  • Initiation to laboratory research in predisposing genetics
  • Introduction to clinical research in predisposing genetics
  • Basics of statistics in genetics
  • Basis for interpreting variants
  • Updating knowledge on syndromes of genetic susceptibility to childhood cancers
  • Meetings with experts on the subject
  • Discussion on complex, molecular, clinical and ethical situations
