Cybersecurity Task Force
The EU-LIFE Cybersecurity Task Force brings together experts and institutional leaders to address the growing challenges of cybersecurity in research-performing organisations. As cyber threats become increasingly frequent and complex, research institutes face heightened risks to their digital infrastructure, sensitive data, research continuity and regulatory compliance.
The task force organised their first two meetings in 2026, where they provided a platform for peer exchange, enabling institutes to share experiences, practical approaches, and lessons learned from real incidents. The initiative concentrates on strengthening institutional preparedness, crisis response, and recovery capacities across the alliance.
Objectives
The Cybersecurity Task Force aims to:
• Facilitate exchange on cybersecurity incidents and institutional responses
• Promote best practices in prevention, crisis governance, and recovery
• Support institutes in addressing emerging regulatory requirements, including the NIS2 Directive
• Strengthen overall cyber-resilience across EU-LIFE members
