GIMM Festival 2025: Exploring the Science of Aging and Longevity

The Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine (GIMM) is proud to announce the 2025 edition of the GIMM Festival, an annual event that bridges science and society through innovation, dialogue, and discovery. Taking place from 4–6 September 2025 at Pavilhão Portugal in Lisbon, this year’s festival centers on the transformative theme of “Aging and Longevity.”

Organized under the umbrella of GIMM CARE—a project supported by Teaming for Excellence – Boosting Clinical Research for the Benefit of Society—the festival reflects GIMM’s mission to advance science that improves lives. The program will feature scientific sessions in English on 4–5 September, followed by a public event in Portuguese (with English translation) on 6 September.

The GIMM Festival fosters engagement between researchers, policy-makers, and the public, offering immersive experiences and thought-provoking discussions. By focusing on a new global challenge each year, it remains at the forefront of scientific communication and public involvement.

Please note: Registration prices include all catering costs for Days 1 and 2 as well as the social dinner. Travel and accommodation are not included and must be arranged by participants (with the exception of invited speakers).

To support wider participation, we are offering 10 GIMM Fest Travel Awards to external students or postdocs based outside Portugal. These awards cover full registration for Days 1 and 2 as well as travel expenses. Awardees will be selected based on the quality of their poster abstract submissions. If eligible, please indicate your interest when submitting your abstract.

Join us in Lisbon to celebrate curiosity, explore the future of healthy aging, and be part of a growing community driving positive change through science.
